How to Make Easy Tiramisu

tiramisu
Tiramisu is a great Italian desert that many people love. They do not however love trying to make this rich and creamy desert. I have an easy recipe for a no fuss tiramisu that will have you making it anytime you need a quick desert. This is usually the item that I bring to potluck occasions. It is the hands down winner when it comes to treats brought in for my coworkers. Whip some up today and enjoy the ease of tiramisu.

Things You'll Need:

  • 9 by 9 tin baking pan 2 tubs of whipped topping 4 tbsp Instant coffee 8 oz water 2 small pound cakes ½ cup Sugar Coco powder Chocolate syrup

  1. Slice the pound cake into ½ inch slices. This will be the cake in your tiramisu. The authentic version uses lady fingers. I have found pound cake to be much more accessible and easier to use.
  2. 2
Warm 8 oz of water in microwave for 3 minutes. Mix into hot water the 4 tbsp of instant coffee and the ½ cup sugar until it is dissolved. Allow this mixture to cool completely before attempting to assemble the tiramisu. This strong sweet coffee takes the place of espresso in the authentic version of tiramisu.
  3. Allow 2 tubs of whipped topping to come to room temperature. Whipped topping is usually kept frozen in your grocery store. If it is not brought to room temperature, it will not spread. This is the substitute for the marzipan.
  4. Place the slices of pound cake on the bottom of the baking pan in a single layer. Wet the pound cake with the strong sweet coffee mixture. Make sure that you saturate all of the pound cake.
  5. Layer the whipped topping in a thin half inch layer on top of the pound cake. Sprinkle the whipped topping with the coco powder.
  6. Place pound cake on top of the coco covered whipped topping. Wet the cake with the coffee mixture again. Place whipped topping in a layer twice as thick as the first one on top of the wet pound cake.
  7. Sprinkle the whipped topping with the coco. Repeat the cake, coffee, and whipped topping layers one last time. Finish off the top of the tiramisu with the remainder of the whipped topping. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top of the desert.
